EATS: Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine

Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine serves up real-deal Cuban food at reasonable prices. It’s not fancy, but it is consistently tasty, quality, flavorful fare. I often stop in for lunch and take advantage of the daily specials. My favorite menu items are the Lechon Asado (roast pork with tangy mojo onions) and Medianoche (serrano ham and swiss cheese on toasty egg roll). Strategy: only eat half of the meal, request a to-go box, order the Tres Leches (meaning “three milks”- rich, sweet, milk soaked cake) and a cuban coffee. Delicioso!

  • Decor is clean, simple and basic
  • Service is attentive and friendly without hovering
  •  Most everything comes with rice, beans and maduros- sweet, caramelized  plantains
  •  Churrasco: skirt steak with garlicky, fresh chimichurri
  •  Ropa Vieja: shredded steak with garlic, onions and tomatoes
  •  Flan: creamy, caramel topped custard
  •  Kid’s menu available
  •  Lunch specials 7 days a week: 6 choices including pork, chicken, fish or  steak- under $10
